2007-11-18 KeysDAN at Homestead Miami Speedway, Homestead, Florida
An exciting day of racing at the Homestead Miami Speedway. The Ford Series 400 was awesome! Matt Kenseth was the winner of this race with the #17 DeWalt Race car. Jimmy Johnson, the projected winner of the Nextel Series Cup, won the series in the Lowes # 44 race car. The pics that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-11-18_KeysDAN_at_Homestead_Miami_Speedway.html

2007-11-16 KeysDAN at Homestead Miami Speedway, Homestead, Florida
Kurt Busch – Has almost as many points as the leader Jimmy Johnson. He is looking to make a great showing at Homestead Miami Speedway. His team is going to retire a race car that is of and older style. He is happy that the chase has worked out to everybody’s expectation. Be in your game for the end race. He is within 100 points for position to win the championship. In 2004, prepared to win or lose. On 2007, this season has been a great year. He feels very positive on choice to join this team and drive the Miller Lite Dodge. Won the race in 2002 but played second fiddle to the championship winner, Greg Biffle. When you win the last race of the season you get a couple of months to brag. This generation of drivers has raised the bar on this game. Each generation has its champions. Do you see trends? I have seen the soft tire and the hard tire. Changes in the way the car is built. NASCAR changes the rules to keep the crew chiefs guessing. Winning the last race but losing the champ. The only thing on his mind is the win and the trophy. Hendricks Motorsports (Dodge Team) is on a roll do you expect the same in 2008? I do expect a great year next year. Many of the races this year were down to the wire. Are you going to buy some cars and keep them in your yard? Have number 90 and 004 cars that he won with in the past. Has a nice stash of some of the old cars. Are you happy with Good Year as the official tire? Yes, Good Year makes a great “mule” type tire good on many types of tracks. Has a nice garage of cars. Is jealous of some other drivers garages because his cars
Racing 101
Ford Racing – Kevin Kennedy – Communications Manager – What are the differences in racing through the years? The rules and restrictions by NASCAR are attempting to level the playing field. The way that you turn is the most important. Everyone goes fast on the straight away. Fuel Mileage is important. Also adjusting tire pressure and tire temperature. The driver has to know quite a bit about the car to give feedback to the pit crew to make changes and tweaks. Juan Pablo Montoya is doing great. He is a good driver. Villanueva as well is coming along in his racing. This is the end of the season. Now all of the drivers are looking to test for next year. On a side note, the cars are still on carburetor as opposed to fuel injection. This year unleaded fuel was introduced. There is talk of “green friendly” technology. Sunoco has the contract to explore new fuels and energy sources. Telemetry vs. fuel injection – what is the next step in racing? Computer simulation programs are used to help to train drivers and keep their hand-eye coordination.. New fuels and techniques mean having to scrap the old cars and make an investment into new cars. That is high dollars. Making te developments over time help the teams diffuse costs. The car of tomorrow will have better fuels, safety features. NASCAR pilots fly more that any other. Bigger teams have the means to buy their own planes. This is cost efficient in many respects. The Pit crews are well trained, practice every night and are in great physical condition. What are your thoughts on changes in 10 years? There could be a separation of the Busch, Nextel and Ford series. Trucks and cars may be separated. In 10 years the car of tomorrow will be here. You are now seeing more aggressive younger drivers. This is bringing in the new generation. This could help in making NASCAR more of a national and international sport. The cup race is great for the media (TV, Radio, Print, etc.) and for the promoter who are trying to get their products and services known to the general public. Everyone is looking for the “next big thing.” Mark Martin is retiring to the truck series because the truck series is not quite as demanding as NASCAR. With all of the new guys coming in is their a resentment by the older drivers? These guys are pretty good. They can show the world that they have the skills and they are good drivers. NASCAR likes it because it expands the fan base. Where does the next fan base come from? New drivers bring in people from their respective countries of origin. The drivers from other countries do try to come in to NASCAR. They may go from ARCA to Truck Series to NASCAR. That is one way to come in to the series. They may get sponsors to bring them over to test them on NASCAR. Some could get in that route. There are a lot of drivers from all over the world that are fans of NASCAR. Many get the urge to drive NASCAR. They have to learn the process of this series.
Todd Irvin – ISC – International Speedway Corporation
These folks own many of the NASCAR tracks throughout the country. They are taking the races to the community. Todd and his team are trying to diversify the sport of NASCAR to the different races. There are not many people of color that are drivers but there are many that work behind the scenes. They are also trying to bring NASCAR to a broader Latin fan base by taking it to several countries in South America.
Alberto Garcia – Vice President of operations Homestead Miami Speedway
Homestead Miami Speedway opened in 1995. When they opened they were small. Now 12 years later it has become one of the most anticipated places to come. The track grades have been gradually changed over the years to have faster, more exciting races. We are commanding more of a Hispanic following throughout the years. The media is a large part of that. Miami-Dade County in particular is a market that is geared toward the Latin community. There are many auto clubs here in South Florida that has been showing support for Latino involvement in NASCAR. There are many driving schools and Driving experience that give folks a chance to get the NASCAR experience without having to be professional NASCAR drivers. There are also local go carts and carting events that can build excitement for the sport of racing.
Alex Garcia - Owner operator
Talks about COT – Car of Tomorrow - and the new changes that prevented his team from entering this series. The changes will ultimately be a good thing for all of the teams but the smaller teams will have to keep up with the new changes. Time and money are the keys to making the changes. Finding sponsors to help cover the costs is a major goal for his team and others. He lives in Atlanta. His car is there. He has the car almost completed for the new changes. He is the driver. His team has to make just a few more changes and he is back in the series. Adjusting weights and balances to make sure that the car is running in top form is an important part of the job. Communication between driver and mechanic is a very useful tool when making the final adjustments. The adjustments are never final. It is an ongoing battle to keep the racing team going strong. How are the changes that a Latin presence affecting NASCAR. People are people. They just happen to be Latino. Diversification opens the doors for people of all races and creeds. Not just Latino. Alex is not into playing the Latin card. He is just happy to be a part of the game that he loves. More than just Latin more important is the races themselves: Busch Nextel and Ford.
Felix Sapatas – Chip Cadassi - Owner of car
How long in NASCAR? 22 years. He grew up in North Carolina. He was very interested from an early age. Was being Latino a challenge for you? No. They treated me just like anyone else. We need to get the Latinos here in the USA to get involved and come to the races. That would be a priority for us. Montoya would be the first Latino NASCAR driver. He is paving the way for others to follow in his path. There are others coming up through the ranks to get to NASCAR. Chip is one of these drivers. Fernando Alonso is another. Formula one is a completely different animal than NASCAR. Formula one is a demonstration of demonstrocity. NASCAR is more conceivable and accessible to the everyman. The cars are more recognizable from the everyday view. Formula one is champagne and caviar. NASCAR is beer and hot dogs. More of us know the beer and hot dog crowd. There are Mexicans in the open wheel series that are making a showing and could be contenders for entry into NASCAR. To gain the level of Jimmy Johnson or Jeff Gordon status the Latino drivers in particular need experience. In a football game, the quarterback keeps the play to himself; in NASCAR everyone hears the plays.1853 hrsThe final practice run for the NASCAR Busch series Ford 300 is roaring through. I am in the pits looking up at the stands. The race fans are slowly filling up the stands. It is so loud. I love it! I am sitting in front of the desk for the TV show, “NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series on Speed.” The crew is setting up the cameras and microphones. The cars are still wizzing by. It is mad excellent! 2000Fireworks and here we go. It is rip roaring loud…The pics that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-11-16_KeysDAN_at_Homestead_Miami_Speedway.html

2007-10-20 Joe & Jennifer at Captain Hiram's Restaurant in Sebastian, Florida
I had the priviledge of being a part of this fine couples wedding day. I traveled to Sebastian on this overcast day to find a quaint location to have a wedding. The ceremony was held upstairs in the banquet room on one side and the reception was on the other. The panoramic window revealed the Atlantic ocean in all of its glory. Joe & Jennifer are real Yankee Baseball fans as you will se when you clicked the link below to the photographs. Joe even proposed to Jennifer at a Yankee game. They had me play "Bud Light's - Real Men of Genius - Mr. Stadium scorebored proposer." It was hilarious. The cake topper also had a baseball theme. If you are going to have a wedding in the keys, and you want to treat your family and friends in style. Lo-Key might be the place for you. I had been by so many times and never knew what was behind that gate. I am so glad that I now know. Jason & Kristie were gorgeous! Their family and friends? Gorgeous! I was so proud to be a part of it all. The event lasted about 7 hours from ceremony until the end of the reception. A challenge for any performer. I was up for it. The bride and groom picked out a wide variety of music. I soon realized why. There was about 100 plus guests with various tastes. I had the tunes to satisfy. Different sounds for different dancers. I got a lot of great photographs and here they are: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-10-06_Jason_Kristie_Wedding_at_Lo-Key_Estate.html

2007-09-22 South Florida Dance Reunion to Save Hialeah Park at 94th Aero Squadron in Miami, Florida
You weren't there? Well you missed a fantastic event. The Freestyle Greats were all in one intimate location. Hialeah Park is off to a great start to being saved from demolition. The freestyle fans came from all over South Florida to see the show. JC on the Radio MCed the affair. The breaks between bands was filled by DJ Otto and friends. I was in the support and photo taking capacity. It was an honor to be a part of it all. The performers were MC Breezy, Madeline Red, Connie, Ray Guell, and Secret Society. These were the artists that created the music that I grew up on. As a lad, I was into breakdancing. It was a trip down memory lane for me to be on the same stage with my heroes. It isn't often that I get star struck. I was giddy! The pics that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-09-22_South_Florida_Dance_Reunion.html

2007-09-15 Jerry 60th Birthday Pool Party & Karaoke Jam in Margate, Florida
Jerry, Jerry, Jerry! It was all about Jerry this Saturday afternoon. Ralph & Donna were gracious enough to open up their home to the festivities. There were so many happy faces. The talents that were displayed on the karaoke microphone rivaled many of the American Idol Stars. It was a pleasure to play that classic rock and island tunes between the singers. The party was scheduled from 3pm to 7pm. It ended way too early. The people wanted more, so they had me stay an extra hour and a half. The folks were laughing and singing and playing in the pool. There was even a video produced by all of the guests, including myself, dedicated to Jerry. It was a great time. I would love to play for them again real soon. The pics that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-09-15_Jerry_60th_Birthday.html
Public Service Message: Wait 30 minutes after eating to go in the pool.

2007-09-08 South Florida Stangs - Ford Mustang Club Car Show at Holiday Isle Resort & Marina Islamorada, Florida Keys
What a car show! Being an avid fan of, and over the years owner of, Ford Mustangs, I was delighted to be a part of the show. The music was a mix a classic rock with a little speed metal thrown in for good measure. The cars were on display like so much eye candy. The award ceremony was very touching. There was much talk of the effects on all of us of the events of September 11th, 2001. The proceeds of the moneys collected at the car show were donated to the families of the victims. I look forward to doing more events with the group. They were awesome! The pics I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-09-08_South_Florida_Stangs.html

2007-08-31 Scott Retirement Party at Holiday Isle Resort & Marina, Islamorada, Florida Keys
"Take this job and shove it!" That was the theme of this shindig. It was a goody. I got to play for folks that I have known for so many years. Personally having worked at Holiday Isle in the late 80s, (revealing my age) I was happy to be a part of Scott's big send off. He was shown much love and respect by his co-workers. Many great speeches were given with lots of humor injected. I wish Scott all the best in the "Golden Years." The pics that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-08-31_Scott_Retirement_Party.html

2007-08-25 Terese Pebbles Baby Shower at Regent Hotel in Miami Beach, Florida
The theme was "Miracle Child." The reason was that "pebbles" has had so many health problems in her life and was told that conception would be nearly impossible. She certainly proved that it was maybe "improbable" but not "impossible." The weather on the penthouse on Miami's South Beach threatened to pour down in the open air. It never did. Another "Miracle?" Perhaps. THe games were so much fun. Ms. Pluke, the party planner, told me that there might be some apprehension to participation at first. The group warmed up rather quickly and the games were on. We had relay games and motherhood games. It was so much fun. I wish Ms. Pluke all the best in her new endeavor as party planner. My thoughts are with Therese and her baby to come. Parenthood changes everything as she will soon find out. The pics that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-08-25_Terese_Pebbles_Baby_Shower.html

2007-08-18 Rafael & Lindsey Wedding Marriott Key Largo Bay Resort, Key Largo, Florida Keys
I have said it so many time in the past, "I love working the ballroom at the Key Largo Bay Marriott. The room was beautiful, the family and friends were beautiful, and the bride and groom? You guessed it, Beautiful!" I really enjoyed this crowd. They were so sweet and the family came to party. It was a Latin-American group of people. So you know that they knew how to dance. And dance, they did. Rafael & Lindsey have so many sweet friends and family that just wanted to help and make sure that everything was as perfect as possible. I don't believe that the bride and groom will ever know the many folks "behind the scenes." I had so many family members and friends come to me to make sure that I was on top of things. Of course, I was. Rafael & Lindsey are off to a great life together. They have a great support team. The pics that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-08-18_Rafael_Lindsey_Wedding.html

2007-08-11 Chris & Diana Wedding at the Lions Club, Key Largo, Florida Keys
Give me a redneck girl and a fisherman. Chris & Diana are sweet with a great family and friends. The guests wanted country music and ol' skool booty music, so that is what they got. The ceremony was short and sweet at the local beach. Then it was off to the Lions Club of Key Largo for the reception. The food was flavoral and the guests were decked mostly in cowboy garb. The bride was beautiful in white and the groom was handsome in his suit. It was so nice working for so many folks that I have personally known for so long. The pics that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-08-11_Chris_Diana_Wedding.htm

2007-07-21 Rusty & Becky Wedding at Tranquility Bay Resort, Marathon, Florida Keys
Rain, Sleet, Snow or Gloom of Night; Nothing could Stop this wedding. The ceremony was planned for the gazebo. It rained and, as always, the show must go on, so the ceremony was moved to the bride and groom's suite. The reception was scheduled to be on the beach under the tent. Plan "B" was to move to the restaurant. All is well that ends well. Lots of smiling wet faces and good times at Rusty & Becky's BIG day! The photographs that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-07-21_Rusty_Becky_Wedding.htm

2007-07-14 Elie & Nancy Wedding Private Residence Coconut Grove, Florida
A beautiful house and a beautiful couple. Golden were the place settings and the feelings matched as Elie and Nancy prepared to enter their nuptuals. The vows exchanged were very heartfelt. There were a lot of teary eyes in the house as they were being said. The partygoers were a mixture of Haitian, African, and Italian descent. The music was just as diverse. I had my work cut out for me but I was up to the challenge. I played a blend of Haitian, reggae, 60's, 70's and 80's. The people seemed pleased. I got a good review from the caterers at eggwhites. It is nice to be appreciated by my colleagues. Many of the party guests were dressed so colorfully. It was very special. I looked forward to playing for them again real soon. The bride and groom are off to a great life together. The pictures that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-07-14_Elie_Nancy_Wedding.htm

2007-07-13 Radio Ritmo at JJ's American Diner Coral Gables, Florida
Tonight is a great night for freestyle. Why not do it in the Gables. This is a pretty nice diner. The whole gang from Radio Ritmo 102.5 FM and the new 105.5 FM was well represented. Armando was all dressed in white to warm up the crowd with some salsa classics. Then the Latin Groove Salsa School took the stage to teach the clubber a few dance moves. Then it was time for the main event. Freestyle was the name of the game. Hilda from Teaz II Pleaz was up first to sing a few of her classics that made us think about good times. When she was done Rudy Gill from Secret Society took the microphone. His dancing and singing proved that he was still very much in the game. A very special thanks to JC on the Radio and DJ Otto for putting this together for us. I was honored and priviledge to be a part of the experience. The picture that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-07-13_Radio_Ritmo_at_JJs_American_Diner.htm

2007-07-07 Bonnie & Mandy Birthday Party in Port largo, Key Largo, Florida Keys
07-07-07 is a great day to be with your family and friends. That is what Bonnie found out today. She was suprised at the front gate by almost everyone she knew. It was great. I was surprised to find that it was Mandy's birthday as well. Two for one: sounds like a great deal to me. The kids were in the pool and on the water slide. Other folks were on the patio chatting away. The cook was working overtime making the good barbecue for the party people. The tunes were a mix of 70's 80's. That is the best music ever made, in my humble opinion. The pictures that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-07-07_Bonnie_Mandy.htm

2007-07-04 John & Karen Wedding at Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort in Marathon, Florida Keys
We had a blast on the beach! The bombs were bursting in air and true love was still there. John & Karen looked very much in love on this Independence Day. It was a hot summer day. Perfect for a wedding reception. The bride and groom picked out an extensive list of tunes that I was happy to play. The guests came to dance and have fun. They had sparklers lit at 9pm. They stood behind the bride and groom for pictures. It made a nice effect. John and Karen are off to a great start on their life together. All the best to them...The Pictures that I took are Here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-07-04_John_Karen_Wedding.htm

2007-06-23 Kevin & Wendy Wedding Coconut Palm Inn Tavernier, Florida Keys
A couple of new age coconuts at the Coconut Palm. I loved my first meeting with Kevin & Wendy. They are definitely fun to be around. I could tell that this was going to be a fun evening. Their music tastes were ecclectic to say the least. The family and friends made their way from all over the country. They were dressed so colorfully. The bride was stunning. The groom was handsome. He was ribbed throughout the evening about his Oakley Sunglass fetish. That was funny. The songlist was a mix of new age in the beginning. Then moved on to country, pop, disco, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, and today's hottest hits. (Did I mention ecclectic?) The party guests were tired but happy. I will take that. Kevin & Wendy wrote me to tell me how much fun they had. That is what I like to hear. I look forward to seeing them again. The pictures that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-06-23_Kevin_Wendy_Wedding.htm

If you haven't been to the coconut cove. I urge you to go. It is a secret in Islamorada. The secret was out when Scott and Nancy tied the knot. Sir Cedrick Luces and His Reggae Roots Band were there to entertain the group. I went to make sure that all was well for the bride and groom. The band was set. Tne people were ready. The lovely Nancy made her way to the beach. She was gorgeous! The groom was handsome and happy. I took a few pictures of the group here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-06-19_Scott_Nancy_Wedding.htm

2007-06-16 Kevin & Melissa Wedding at Gulfview Waterfront Resort, Marathon, Florida Keys
The rain came down, but nothing could drown the happy feeling shared by all of the family and friends here. At first, I was set up outside the tent. When rain was immenent, I moved under the tent, and the party continues. The rain came in spurts, so the guests would huddle under the tent until it cleared. It was kind of a game. The bride and groom were beautiful and smiling. The party was so good that they kept ol' KeysDAN another hour. The property at the Gulf View resort is gorgeous. Get there if you have the means. The ceremony was held on the beach and the reception was on the other side of the pool. Kevin & Melissa are the sweetest people. They wrote me several times to tell me hjow much fun that they had. I am so happy to be a party of their BIG day! Here are the picture that I took: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-06-16_Kevin_Melissa_Wedding.htm

2007-06-01 Key Largo Middle School Graduation Party at Holiday Inn Key Largo, Florida Keys
You don't have to be a star baby, to be in my show. The 8th grade class of Key Largo School were treated like VIPs by the VIP Parent association. They were made to feel like Hollywood Stars complete with Oscar Awards for various achievements such as, best smile, best dressed and funniest. The room was decorated in red carpet style. There were movie posters on the walls and stars hung from the ceiling. Tonight, I wasn't the only one in tuxedo. Quite a few of the young people were dressed in high fashion. It is fun to dress up and go out! The majority of the party people were in the mood for the latest hip hop and r&b. That is what I gave 'em. The kids were laughing and dancing and sweating. It was a great time. I enjoyed myself and I got a lot of compliments. Happy to entertain. I wish them well at Coral Shores High School next year. 2007-05-27 Jacquie's Medical School Graduation Party Private Residence Coral Gables, Florida
Is there a doctor in the house? There sure was tonight. We had a blast in The Gables. Jacquie's family and friends were so proud of her for graduating from medical school. They gave her a great send off on her way down the professional path. The music of choice was primarily Motown. There was a bit of disco, 80's, r&b and ol' skool hip hop thrown in. It was a blast! The pictures that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-05-27_Jacquies_Medical_School_Graduation_Party.htm

2007-05-26 David & Jolanda Wedding LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort Naples, Florida
What can I say about David & Jolanda? When I was watching them get married, I could feel the love shared by these two people. When speaking to their families, among the first things relayed to me were that there were no worries for this couple. They will stay together forever. I would have to agree. From what I observed, they are very family oriented. They day was gorgeous on Naples Beach. The ceremony was scheduled for 7pm. The steel drum team, Caribbean Passion, was already playing for the arrival of the guests. Everyone looked wonderful. Most of the folk were dressed in light linen and tropical clothes. The Groom looked handsome, and the bride, breathtaking! The ceremony was performed by Captain Captain Hugh James. It was beautiful, short and sweet. It included the sand ceremony. Perfect for the beach. Then began the cocktail hour and the steel drummers picked up the pace. When the hour was up, I invited everyone inside to the reception room for dinner and dancing. The bride and groom entered last to be announced and have their first dance as husband and wife. Then the bride danced with her father and the groom with his mother. Then something a little bit different. The bride wanted to honor her mother and grandmother with a special dance. It was very special indeed. Then dinner was served. David & Jolanda had a nice mix of slow jams requested. I was happy to oblige. After dinner, a little dancing, a little mingling and a lot of love in the room. I was very happy to be a part of it. Congratulations to David & Jolanda! The pictures that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-05-26_David_Jolanda_Wedding.htm

2007-05-19 John & Nicole Wedding - National Hotel, South Beach, Miami, Florida
Here comes the rain again. Nothing could drown out the feelings of love at John & Nicole's wedding. The National is a beautiful classic styled hotel. One of the great features is the pool and the surrounding area. The ceremony was sheduled to start at 8pm and be performed right next to the famous pool. The guests were seated quickly as a dark cloud loomed overhead. The smiles on the faces of the guests, bridal party and the bride and groom brightened up the day. The ceremony was cut short and we all went for the cocktail area. This was, thankfully, under cover. John and nicole picked out some of the cooler new tunes from the likes of John Mayer, Dave Mattews and Jack Johnson. They also threw in some of the crooners like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. The rain cleared and we went back to the pool area for a formal buffett dinner. The rain drops fell on our heads again. We ducked for cover at the pool bar. We were all togther so it was a good time for the best man and matron of honor to make their speeches. They were so hearfelt, sweet and well prepared. I like that. The rain cleared once again and I instructed the folks to make their way to the buffett. Love songs were played through the dinner time. Quite a few of the family and friends felt the urge to groove. they dance around the pool area. After dinner, it was time once again to go back to the main part of the National Hotel in the banquet room. I had the dance tunes ready to go. The partygoers came to shake it... And shake it, they did! The party went on until 12:45 am. It was a goody. John & Nicole are married. Yeah babies! The pictures that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-05-19_John_Nicole_Wedding.htm.

2007-05-16 Marriott Employee Appreciation Day Karaoke Jam - Marriott Key Largo Bay Resort, Key Largo Florida Keys
The staff of the Key Largo Marriott sure did feel appreciated today at their beach karaoke jam. The event was 3pm to 5pm. The employees were a little timid at first to take the microphone. I had a menu full of songs in English and Spanish. Some of the staff were of latino origin so they looked through the spanish tunes. One singer got up and started the ball rolling. Then a few more sang. They were singing party favorites from artists like the late Selena and a trio got up and did the Y.M.C.A. They were great. The management gave great prizes away to their employees to show how much they appreciated their hard work. The employees all had tickets given to them and had the chance to win a gas cards, restaurant gift certificates, digital cameras, a color TV and many more. Just before the end of the show, the rain started to drop so the helpful staff of the Marriott Key Largo Bay Resort helped me get my electronic equipment under cover. I really apprecite them as well. It was a fun time. I look forward to more great times at the Marriott Key Largo. The pictures that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-05-16_Marriott_Employee_Appreciation_Day.htm

2007-05-13 Tom & Debbie Wedding - Marriott Key Largo Bay Resort, Key Largo, Florida Keys
An Irish Boy, An Italian Girl, and a Hawaiian Luau Theme. I love originality! Tom & Debbie were looking for unforgettable and they got it. The day was a bit overcast in Key Largo, but that was OK. It made the afternoon cooler for the wedding guests. The wedding was scheduled for sunset, I got there an hour earlier to set up the sound system upstairs at Gus' Grille. I then set up the second sound system for the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner. The ceremony was presided over by the world famous Captain Spencer Slate of Slate's Dive Center. He was humorous as usual. The cocktail hour was next. So the guests and I moved over to under Gus' Grille. I played some Hawaiian and island tunes. I caught quite a few of the folks laughing and singing along. Dinner was next, so we moved back over to the beach area that was set up for dinner. The bride and groom had their first dance. The bride and father and groom and mother parent dances were next. The best man made his toast and Uncle Ray made the blessing before dinner. They were both very touching. Dinner was served by the Marriott staff in buffett form. I invited the tables up in orderly fashion. The Tom & Debbie wanted to continue with the luau theme, so I played some of the lighter hawaiian hits. As soon as I saw the last person finish their meal. I invited the folks to join me upstairs for a dance party. The people were ready to shake it. So I got them moving. The Irish Groom and the Italian Bride wanted to have their respective cultures represented. I played The Tarantella for her side and some Irish drinking songs for his side. After that, the fine blend of 80's tunes, disco, 60's and hip hop brought the families together on the dance floor. Tom & Debbie are off to a great start. I was so happy to be a part of it. 2007-05-12 Jackie's Quinceaneras, Lions Club, Key Largo, Florida Keys
MTV doesn't have anything on us. This event was bigger than big, cooler than cool. Miss Jackie has so many friends, they almost didn't fit into the 300 capacity Lions Club Banquet Hall. The guests began to arrive at around 6:30pm. Jackie looked gorgeous in her white Quinceaneras dress. She was behind the curtain waiting for her grand entrance. I was one of the priviledged few to get a glimpse before the coming out event. Most of the guests were in the Lions Den by 7:30 when the main event was to begin. I was given the priviledge of performing as master of ceremonies and disc jockey. I was already playing the latest R&B tunes, Miss Jackie was singing along with many of them. I got the crowds attention and read to them a few of the facts about Jackie. I activated the fog machine and lights. The curtains were opened to reveal the beautiful young lady. Her court, or chambelones, of 14 young men was lined up and waiting to each present a rose to her. Next, Miss Jackie danced with her grandpa, then her cousin cut in halfway through as planned. The chambelones were then given the microphone to pass along and say a few nice things about the little girl that was becoming a woman. It was very sweet. Next on the agenda was a surprise presentation of a bracelet by her younger brother, Markey. It was very special. She had no idea. Jackie's mom, Jannette was next up to say a few words to her daughter. It was so heartfelt and sweet. I believe that everyone felt her sentiments. It was then Jackie's turn at the mic. She had such nice things to say to her family and friends. I saw many tears of joy. It was then time for the folks to eat. It was also time for the party guests to get their chance to get photographed with the princess. There were many, many folks that wanted to take advantage of that priviledge. After dinner, Jackie changed into a dance outfit, and she and her friend, Rene, made a beautiful salsa dance presentation. The party guests loved it! It was then time to start the dance party. Since this was a latin event, I started off with some salsa and merengue. The crowd was getting pumped. Jackie's grandfather, Ramon, set up some snare and bongo drums and joined in on percussion. That was great! I then switched to some newer hip hop, then back to latino, then old school hip hop, then latin. I then got a request from the older folks (over 30... hehe) for some disco music. I was happy to oblige. The tunes were a nice mix of old and new. The party people were dancing and sweating and smiling. The dance floor was packed for most of the night. I even had quite a few up on stage with me. It was great. Jackie is well on her way to womanhood. I am so happy to have been a part of her BIG day, The pictures that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-05-12_Jackies_Quinceaneras.htm

2007-05-09 Dade Christian School: Teacher Appreciation Cowboy Theme Luncheon, Miami, Florida
The teacher were certainly appreciated today. The VIP: Parent Association put on a fantastic event. Yours truly, KeysDAN, was on hand to provide the entertainment. The parents had the chapel gussied up with hay bales, wetern themed ornaments and lights. The teacher came in the afternoon and were treated to various food the included picnic type barbecue and other delicious items. I was so glad to be a part of it. I was ready to play games with the teachers. Most of them seemed to wanted to have some food, relax, and listen to good time country music. I did manage to get them up for a YMCA dance, complete with hats. It was a good photo opportunity. I look forward to doing more with Dade Christian School> The Pictures that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-05-09_Dade_Christian_School.htm

2007-05-05 George & Rebecca Wedding Marriott Key Largo Bay Resort, Key Largo, Florida Keys
George & Becky have given us a new reason to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. It was a cool and sunny day day in the fabulous Florida Keys. Perfect for a wedding at the Marriott Key Largo Bay resort. I arrived 2 hours early to set up for the happy couples BIG day. I went upstairs to the banguet room at Gus' Grille. While I was setting up. Caribbean Passion Steel Drum Duo was downstairs setting up for the ceremony. The staff of the Marriott were also busy, busy, busy getting the place readied up for the grand event. George and his groomsmen arrived in their tuxedos with powder blue accents. They looked great. He was smiling and nervous and happy. The guests arrived shortly after. The bride's charriott (Marriott Golfcart) arrived and Rebbecca looked gorgeous. I took my place near the steel drummers to cue them when to play the wedding march.. The ceremony was presided over by Judge Marriott, a family friend. It was very sweet. After the ceremony, I helped them drummers move under the carport for the cocktail area. At 8:30 pm, it was time to make our way to the main reception room. I announced the wedding party and the first dances. The toast by the best man.was very heartfelt. The dinner at the Marriot was excellent as usual. The cake cutting was the last formality. Then it was time for the party. The bride and groom chose a fine blend of disco, pop, r&b, rap and rock. The folks were their to dance and I was happy to be playing for them. What a sweet group of family and friends. George and Becky are off to a great start. The pics that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-05-05_George_Rebecca_Wedding.htm

2007-04-28 Timothy & Jill Wedding Snook's Bayside Restaurant Key Largo, Florida Keys
It could not have been a more beautiful day to celebrate the nuptuals of Timothy and Jill. I knew that I had quite a bit of work setting up for the big day. I arrived just after 4 pm to find the staff of Snook's already working to make the area look as perfect as can be. I set up the main sound system on the stage outside. Then I set up the smaller sound system on the peninsula where the ceremony would be held. The beautiful owner, operator, and wedding officiant of Snook's Bayside made here way to the microphone for a mic check. She was satisfied and went back to leading here fine crew in the preparation. The guest were to arrive at around 6 pm, so I had lite music playing for their arrival. The ceremony started shortly afterwards. It went off beautifully. I invited the guests to the outside cocktail area for and hour of drink and snack foods. Meanwhile, I snuck the ceremony sound system to the inside dining room in preparation for the dinner portion of the evening. After the bride and groom were done with the majority of their pictures. The guests were invited inside for some dinner. Halfway through, the happy couple made their way outside again to take advantage of the beautiful sunset that Snook's is known for. The best man man had his toast, the cake was cut, it was time to party -- and party, we did. They danced, danced, danced until the end. Pop, rock, disco, salsa, merengue and swing. The bride even got the courage up to sing a song a capella. It was so sweet, Good times had by all. I am so happy for Timothy & Jill. The pictures that I took are posted here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-04-28_Timothy_Jill_Wedding.htm

2007-04-27 American Cancer Society - Relay for Life Founder's Park, Islamorada, Florida Keys
Digging deep and giving big is nothing new for the people of the Florida Keys and South Florida. I am so proud of my neighbors for coming out and showing support for the American Cancer Society - Relay for Life. I arrived at 4 pm to find Billy Bob, the sound man, already hard at work setting up the stage and sound There were so many vendors that were on hand to provide various services to feed and entertain the attendees. There was a feeling of love in the air and a great warmth for the folks living with cancer. The event was to start promptly at 6 pm. I was in a Master of Ceremonies and Music Interlude capacity. Sharing the stage with Yours Truly were the soothing sounds of Micah Gardner's Califloridian sound. He was joined by Sun 103.1's "Big Daddy" Joe Markum. We had a special return engagement of the young and lovely Jennifer Ray. It was great to have hillbilly flamenco local favorite Dave Feder and his protege, the young Nyan Feder playing so sweetly. At 9 pm, there was a beautiful candlelight ceremony. It was very uplifting. Due to previous engagements, I couldn't stay for the whole night this year. I left at just past midight. It was so nice to be a part of this great event. I look forward to next year. I have the pics that I posted here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-04-27_American_Cancer_Society.htm

2007-04-21 Alexander & Kristine Wedding at Tranquility Bay Beach House Resort in Marathon, Florida Keys
It was a gorgeous day in Marathon in the fabulous Florida Keys. The setting was perfect for Alexander and Kristine to conduct their nuptuals. The wedding was to begin at 6pm. I arrived at just past 4pm to set up the music. The staff of Tranquility Bay were already busy getting things ready for the grand occasion. As the start time approached, news that started like a bad joke was relayed to me. "The priest and the rabbi are stuck in traffic." The tent was up, the tables, the chairs, the flowers were all in readiness. The groom was smiling, handsome and anxious. I kept the pre ceremony music going until just a little past 6pm, the officiants made their entrance. The bride asked for some very specific music to come down to: the soundtrack to the movie "Ever After." it was very sweet. Like a fairytale princess, the beautiful bride, Kristine, made her way down the beach to the ceremony area. The priest and the rabbi were very humorous in their delivery. Then, without much warning, a cloud came overhead and opened up. At first the officiants were in the mindset to finish up and then duck for cover under the tent. Logic prevaled and the entired party gathered under the big tent and the nuptuals continued. The rest of the ceremony was a harmonious blend of Jewish and Catholic tradition. The rain stopped and the bridal party and family were able to get some sunset photos with Donna McLaughlin and video with Paula Vieceli. The rest of us remained under the tent for a cocktail hour. The staff of the resort were wonderful. Alexander & Kristine made their way back to the tent for their first dance as husband and wife. The song was Garth Brooks - "To Make You Feel My Love." The Bride dance with her father to "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. For the groom and his mother, Sade's "By Your Side" was chosen. I was told that dinner was tasty. Afterwards, it was time to boogie. The music requested was a fine blend of rock, swing and hip hop. I threw a few goodies in to keep the folks on the dance floor. I saw lots of smiling faces. The bride made a costume change into a blue party dress and rejoined the guests. We danced and danced into the evening. The pictures that I took are here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-04-21_Alexander_Kristine_Wedding.htm

2007-04-14 Jeremiah & Kelly Wedding at Key Colony Inn - Key Colony, Marathon, Florida Keys
From the Beatles to Hip Hop to Good ol' Rock 'n' Roll. Today was the BIG day for Miah and Kelly. It could not have been a more lovely day on Key Colony Beach. The wedding ceremony was to start at 6pm, so I arrived at 5pm to setup the outside sound system and the inside sound system. I also met up with Jill the officiant and I got a sneak peak at Miss Kelly, who showed to survey the ceremony site. It appeared to be satisfactory, so she snuck back to her room to get gussied up. I started playing some jazzy guitar as requested by the bride. Jeremiah and the guests arrived shortly after. He looked great in his Guayabera shirt. The rest of the guest were very colorful as well. I saw a group that was particularly colorful in their bright pink and blue tropical shirts. I was told that they were a family from the Bahamas. The ceremony started a little after 6 pm. It was very sweet. After the ceremony was completed, I invited the guest to the cocktail hour at the Key Colony Inn. The bridal party was off to get their pictures taken by Bob Summers. I got to the Key Colony Inn reception room where I had set up the larger sound system. I started playing some of the slower rock songs that were requested by the happy couple. At about 7:30pm, the bridal party arrived. So I played Louis Armstrong's "Our Love Is Here To Stay" and made the introductions and they had their first dances. They really wanted to show appreciation to their family and friends so they had me invite them to join them in their first dance. Their song was another song by the Ol' Satchmo "A Kiss To Build A Dream On." The bride and groom also wanted their family and friends to join them for the parent dances as well. That was very sweet. It made everyone feel like a part of the celebration. The toasts were next. The best man, Marlon, father of the bride, Tim, and bridesmaids, Liesl and Loren all made very heartfelt speeches. It was beautiful. Then it was dinner time. About halfway through dinner, Jerry, the father of the groom told me that he wanted to say a few words. He was very funny. After dinner, Miah and Kelly cut the cake and then it was time for the real party to begin. The request list that they came up with was a fine blend of rock, pop, and hip hop. The folks were laughing and dancing and having a blast. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. I had a lot of the party people telling me that I did well. I am so happy to have been a part of Jeremiah and Kelly's wedding day.The pictures that I took are located here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-04-14_Jeremiah_Kelly_Wedding.htm.

2007-03-17 Miguel & Sheryl Wedding at the Palms Hotel - South Beach, Miami, Florida
You have to love a Latin-American Party. Today happened to St Patrick's Day and Spring Break was going on strong. Traffic was a bear on South Beach. I got to the Palms and set up very quickly and the wedding of Miguel and Sheryl was under way. The bride and groom looked beautiful and the guests looked great as well. The ceremony was presided over by Matthew Sparks. I met up with Danella from "Precious Memories of a Lifetime" Wedding planning." We have worked together many times before. I set up the larger sound system inside the Palms' banquet room for the reception. For the cocktail hour, I played some of the slower songs that the happy couple had requested from my online music request list. The folks looked wonderful while they had their drinks and coconut shrimp. After the cocktail hour was over, the guestwere invited into the banquet room for the dinner and fiesta. Danella brought me a last minute change on the line up and I announced the bridal party. The newly nuptual two then had their first dance to Kenny Chesney's "You and Me." The speeches were then made by the best man, maid of honor, and mothers of the bride and groom. They were very heartfelt with lots of tears. It was beautiful. The groom then danced with his mother to the song "Mama" by Boys II Men. For dinner music, Miguel and Sheryl requested some tropical island and lite reggage tunes. After dinner, I took the duo through the traditional cutting, bouquet and garter belt tossing. The groom had a lot of fun with his seductive dance before taking the garter off of his blushing bride. It was now time to get the folks dancing. Miguel likes the 80's, Sheryl likes hip hop, the family likes latino music, so I had my work cut out. I am always up to the challenge. The Party was hot. I was sad when it had to end. A lot of the party people came up to me and said that they wanted more. All things must come to an end. Congratulations to Miguel and Sheryl. Many happy years to come in wedded bliss. The pics that I took are here: 2007-03-17 Miguel & Sheryl Wedding at the Palms Hotel - South Beach, Miami, Florida

2007-03-10 Craig & AJ Wedding at the Marriott Key Largo Bay Resort - Key Largo, Florida Keys
What a gorgeous day for a wedding! The winter day was warm and sunny in the Florida Keys. The guests looked so bright and colorful. They were also very tan. I could tell that they had been soaking up the rays all week. The steel drum band, Caribbean Passion, and myself, arrived at 4pm. The ceremony was scheduled for 5 pm so there was plenty of time to set up. I met with Garth and Paul (the event captains at the Key Largo Marriott) to make sure that we set up in the proper spot. I had the steel drummers set up under the tiki hut, as usual. They started up as the guests started to arrive. I met up with Donna McGlaughlin, the photographer, to make sure that we were where she wanted us for optimal photo opportunity. She is very good. We kept in touch throughout the evening so she wouldn't miss any of the great moments. Captain Slate performed the ceremony. He is so good. He adds just the right ammount of humor to keep people smiling throughout the whole ceremony. After the ceremony, I invited the guests to a cocktail hour under Gus' Grille. I helped Caribbean Passion move the drums over to the cocktail area. That took about 5 minutes and they were going again. The folks were smiling and drinking and eating. at 7pm, it was time to invite Craig and AJ's guests upstairs for dinner and dancing. I announced the wedding party and the happy couple had their first dance to "This Will Be An Everlasting Love" by Natalie Cole. They danced so sweetly. After that, Bill & Kim, the best man and maid of honor respectively, made their formal toasts to the bride and groom. The bride cried after Kim's speech. What a moment! I knew that dinner would be ready at 7:30pm, because I asked Garth earlier, so I asked that the guests please start for the buffett styled meal. It's great to be on time. After dinner, we had a few more formalities to take care of before the real dancing could begin. I led Craig and AJ through the cake cutting, bouquet and garter belt toss. That was a lot of fun, but not as fun as what was coming next. It was time to dance... and dance, they did. The couple of the night picked out an extensive list of disco, hip hop, r&b, country and ol' skool. Combined with the requests that the guests gave me through the night, it was a really good time. I am so happy for Craig and AJ. I wish them well in their lives together. I will post the pics that I took at http://www.keysdan.com/ soon.

2007-03-03 Steve and Angela Wedding at Marker 88 Restaurant Islamorada, Florida Keys
Tonight was the night for a lunar eclipse. Nothing could eclipse the love that Steve and Angela were feeling for each other. I got to Marker 88 Restaurant at 5pm to set up for the evenings festivities. The staff was already busy putting the finishing touches on the tables. The sun was getting low and the guests were set to arrive at arround 6:30 pm. I put on some steel drum music until Burt the Steel Drummer could make it over from the ceremony. The first guests began to arrive and gather arround the outside bar for cocktails. All of the family and friends were dressed colorful, tropical garb for the wedding ceremony and reception. Burt the Steel Drummer arrived on the scene, so I shut down and let him wow the crowd for a bit. I got together with Holly the wedding planner from HS Events to go over details to make sure that it would be perfect for the happy couple. They arrived shortly afterwards by boat. It was lovely. They had a special flag that they raised up the flag pole. Then the guests were invited by me to come to the dinner area. Steve and Angela danced their first dance as husband and wife to "For Once In My Life" by Michael Buble. The bride then danced with her daddy, Bob, to The Stylistics - "You Are Everything." James Taylor's "You've Got A Friend" provided the background for the groom and mother dance. Dinner was great. The folks were dancing to all of the slow songs that were picked out. I do love pre-planning! The father of the bride temporarily took over the duties as master of ceremonies and announced all of the family and friends that had words of encouragement for the couple of the night. There were so many, including the bride's younger brother's presentation of a baseball cap to the groom. The cake cutting ceremony was next and then a presentation of the bouquet and garter to their aunt and uncle that were married for Fifty (50) years. Then it was time to boogie down. The honorable Steve and Angela had tunes picked out from disco to country to rock to pop. The guests were smiling and dancing and laughing and drinking. It was a good time. I had a few requests that I was able to throw in as well. Ah yes. I remember the "Sweet Home Alabama" and bringing "Sexy Back." There were quite a few 80's tunes thrown. You have to like Depech Mode. It was an excellent group. Steve and Angela have great family and friends. The pictures that I took are posted here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-03-03_Steve_Angela_Wedding.htm.

2007-02-23 Sualys Graduation Party at a Private Residence on Plantation Key, Islamorada, Florida Keys
With all of the weddings that I do, it is nice to get wild at an old fashioned house party. There was cause for celebration tonight. Sualys graduated from Radiology School. I have had the honor of knowing this young lady for many, many years. She is an inspiration. It is only right that she gets a day of celebration. The music of the night was a blend of Latino and Ol' Skool Hip-Hop. So I brought it. The party was hype. The folks were dancing and laughing and sweating. I had a blast playing for them. This was especially pleasing for me because I knew a lot of the party people. My mom was even there. So I had to do especially well. Quite a few of the guests said that I was awesome. I never get tired of hearing that. Just trying to get better and better. All the best to Sualys. I look forward to playing for them again. I have posted the pictures that I took here: http://www.keysdan.com/2007-02-23_Sualys_Graduation_Party.htm

2007-02-17 Michael & Jennifer Wedding at a Private Residence in Key Largo, Florida Keys
Today was the big day for Michael and Jennifer and it was such a nice evening for a beach wedding. There was a bit of a cold front that came in but that wasn't going to put a damper on anyone's fun. I got there to set up the music an hour early as usual and many of the guests were already there. So I set up quickly and got some great old love songs on to set the mood. The wedding planner from Busy Brides met up with me and we made sure that we were on the same page. I set up a microphone for the ceremony and the officiant, Vince, made a short sound check. All was going well. The caterer got with me and let me know that dinner would be ready around 7:30. That was plenty of time. The ceremony was to start at 5 pm. I called the guests over to the ceremony area at 5:45 pm. The ceremony was beautiful and went off without a hitch. The bride didn't want the traditional music played for her procession and recessiom. She picked out an instrumental cover of Van Morrison's "Sweet Thing" from the "Into the Mystic" album. For the recession, Johnny Cash's "Walk the Line." It was very special. The guest were then invited by me to a cocktail hour while the bridal party got pictures taken in front of what was left of the sunset. I played some steel drum and island for the folks. The bridal party lined up around 7:15 and I announced them. the family and friends were great with their clapping and whistling and hollering. The first dance of the bride and groom as husband and wife was another Van Morrison tune, "Into the Mystic." The father-daughter dance was Jimmy Buffet's "Little Miss Magic." The guest were ready for dinner after that and Bob's B-B-Q had prepared a great meal of lobster, fish, and other goodies. After dinner, the best man and made of honor made toasts to the happy couple. Then I took them though the cake cutting, bouquet toss and garter belt toss. Then the real party could start. It was time to turn the folks out. The beach in front of the DJ table was turned into a dance floor. The music choices were everything from disco to country to rock to hip hop. The guests were dancing and laughing and keeping each other warm. The reception was awesome! Michael and Jennifer are off to a great start on their life together. I will post the many pictures that I took at http://www.keysdan.com/ this week.

2007-02-10 Kahlil's Cowby Theme House Party in the Redlands, Miami, Florida
As an entertainer, I love to get the chance to play for all ages. This was no exception. Kahlil was three (3) years old and ready to have some fun. His family and friends were joining in as well. Red Nose Productions was hired by Kahlil's mom, Camille, to set up a tent, various vending machines, pony ride, bounce house, Woody character, and yours truly for the Cowboy KeysDAN Show. The family and friends were on hand to partipate in the many games that I had in store for them. I was hired in dual capacity as Disc Jockey and Master of Ceremoies. This was no prblem for me because I do it all of the time. It was fun being the game master as well. Since it was a cowboy themed party, I made sure that all of the games followed in suit. I used some of the cowboy hats that I had in my box of tricks to play the passing games. I also got a chance to practice my ballon twisting techniques. The party people wanted to hear the new Disney pop tunes and the new country music as well. This again was no problem at all. When I was ready to leave, the kids said that they "had fun" with me. I said "thanks" to all of them and rode off into the sunset. Good times. The pictures that I took are online at 2007-02-10 Kahlil's Cowboy Theme Party. Check them out.

2007-02-03 Jeremy & Kimberly Renaissance Wedding at the Spanish Monastery - North Miami Beach, Florida
Fantasy and reality came together on this very special day. I had the priviledge of entertaining on this occasion. Jerermy & Kimberly went all out for their nuptual celebration. I was also very proud of the many guests that got into the theme of the day by coming in either renaissance or midevil garb. The groom and groomsmen were all a splendor in their kilts. The bride and the bridesmaids were stunning in their wench wear. The bride was especially lovely. Yours truly, KeysDAN, was also sporting a kilt for my master of ceremonies and disc jockey duties. I got there at about 2 pm and I was assisted by mixmaster Tim DeMattio. He was decked out in a jacobite shirt and looking the part. The staff of egg whites catering was already busy setting up the food stuffs. The wedding planner, Yuri, was also taking care of the last minute details. I was instructed to set up the sound and video projection in the open courtyard of the monastery. I put on some bagpipe music until the three live pipers were ready to begin. The ceremony was scheduled to start at around 4 pm. The bridal party went into the main chapel followed by the pipers and last, but by no means least, Kimberly, the blushing bride. After the ceremony, the cocktail hour began in the outside yard. There was a four piece renaissance band playing and a court jester on stilts and juggling. They were great. Rain threatened to ruin the outdoor activities, so "plan b" had to take effect. Tim and I moved the audio & video under cover in record time. The festivities were on again. I did the announcements and first dances. The toasts and speeches were done. Dinner was served. I played some of the lighter rock tunes that the bride and groom requested. After dinner, I took the happy couple through the cake cutting, bouquet tossing and garter belt traditions. Then it was time to dance, dance, DANCE. The people came to boogie. Jeremy and Kimberly had a wide variety of tunes to choose from. I started with the disco then moved in to the hard rock. Then, it was country time. The party people were dancing and they wanted more. I had several requests for some of the new hip hop. So I opened a fresh can of "bump-n-grind." The kids were digging it. Meanwhile, there was a gentleman reading runestones behind the DJ booth. I was told that the trolley busses were leaving and the party was finishing. The folks said, and I agree, that the party ended "too early." I could have gone all night with these nice people. I felt a lot of love. I also was happy to hear all of the compliments thrown my way. That makes me feel really good. I am very happy for Jeremy and Kilixzimberly. They are off to a great start on their life together. I look forward to playing for them again. The pictures that I took are posted at www.KeysDAN.com.
